Important Update to AutoBuy Settings: January 2025

As part of our commitment to improving the AutoBuy experience for all our agents, we are introducing updates to the AutoBuy settings, effective 13th January. These changes aim to simplify the process, ensure fairness, and make lead distribution more effective for everyone.

What is changing in AutoBuy Settings?

Simplified Destination-Specific Settings:

Domestic (e.g., Manali):

  1. Minimum Days to Departure: Cannot be higher than 7 days.
  2. Maximum Days to Departure: Cannot go below 90 days.
  3. Minimum Travelers: Cannot be higher than 2 travellers
  4. Minimum Nights: Cannot go above 3* nights.
  5. Departure Destination: Only states can be selected

* The only exceptions to the nights rule are where it's almost impossible to cover the destination in 3 nights. Andaman, Ladakh, Spiti & Kerala have 4 nights capping whereas Char Dham and Arunachal have upto 5 nights allowed.

Outbound (e.g., Bali):

  1. Minimum Days to Departure: Cannot be higher than 14* days.
  2. Maximum Days to Departure: Cannot be lower than 120 days.
  3. Minimum Travelers: Cannot be higher than 2 travellers
  4. Minimum Nights: Cannot go above 5 nights.
  5. Departure Destination: Only states can be selected.

* Some long-haul destinations like Europe, Australia, Egypt, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa, South America, Turkey, USA have upto 30 days allowed as Minimum Days to Departure.

Why are we making these changes?

When we first introduced AutoBuy, our goal was to give agents maximum flexibility to customize their lead preferences. Over time, we’ve observed that while these settings have been helpful, they’ve also created some unintended challenges:

  • Highly specific settings, like filtering by exact cities for departures, have made it harder for many agents to access leads, reducing overall lead availability.
  • In some cases, certain settings have given a small group of agents an advantage, creating an imbalance in lead distribution.

To address these challenges, we’re simplifying the settings to ensure a fair and efficient system that works for everyone. These updates aim to create a level playing field, reduce errors, and make it easier for all agents to succeed.

These changes reflect our learnings and a commitment to building a system that works for everyone. We’re confident that these updates will not only make AutoBuy simpler and fairer but also ensure that your business continues to grow.
